Are You Confused About Publishing?
Hello. Thanks for visiting my website. If you've found me here, you're probably looking for some guidance on how to navigate the publishing industry, or we've met in person and shared stories, thoughts and grumbles about the book world over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Whatever your reason for visiting, I'm glad you're here and I will help with any queries you have.
I've worked in publishing for more than 25 years and, while I love the industry, I am very aware that in can be confusing and frustrating to navigate. My goal is to support authors at all stages of their publishing career and help demystify the industry. I've worked for big publishers and small publishers, and set up two publishing companies of my own (The Friday Project and RedDoor Press) as well as offering consultancy services to publishers and authors. I co-founded The ADCI Prize for fiction and #KeepFestivalsHybrid.
I work with students on the MA Creative Writing course at West Dean, delivering sessions on publishing and working one-to-one with them to set out the different publishing options and to work out what is best for them. I'm also author of the forthcoming book, An Author’s Guide to Publishing.
In recent years I've published more than a hundred brilliant books by talented authors: fiction, non-fiction and even the occasional children’s book. I have a deep understanding of the book industry and I have the knowledge, experience and contacts to make your publishing journey the pleasure it should be.Please do book a time for a chat to discuss your project, or email me on clare@clarechristian.co.uk.
